Formalities, health, physical preparation, luggage and spirituality: our guides’ advice for a serene Hajj.
Hajj is the journey of a lifetime. Preparing well, months ahead, lets you focus fully on what matters most: your pilgrimage.
Formalities
- Passport valid at least 6 months after the return date
- Recent ID photos on a white background
- Registration with the agency before the deadline, to obtain the Hajj visa
- For women, chaperone details as required by current regulations
Health
- Meningitis (ACWY) vaccination, mandatory for the visa
- Yellow fever and vaccines recommended by your doctor
- A medical check-up, especially after 60 or with a chronic condition
- A kit: usual treatment in sufficient quantity, plasters, anti-chafing cream, rehydration salts
The pilgrim’s suitcase
- 2 or 3 ihram sets for men, loose, modest clothing for women
- Comfortable sandals already worn in (never new)
- A small neck pouch for documents
- A light prayer mat and a book of supplications
- An umbrella, a water bottle and a mist spray
Spiritual preparation
Review the rites (ihram, tawaf, sa’y, standing at Arafat, stoning) and attend the information sessions. Our team holds preparation meetings before each departure.
Registration for Hajj 2027 is open until 20 December 2026 at our Plateau agency or online.
